Is Amberen safe to take for menopause?

Millions of women around the world are transitioning through menopause, and many have asked at some point if the supplement Amberen is safe for use during this period. In general, it can be assumed that Amberen is safe for most women’s bodies when used as directed. That said, it is still important to keep in mind a few factors before taking Amberen or any dietary supplement.

It is always a good idea to talk with your doctor before starting any kind of supplement regimen in order to rule out any interactions between existing medications or underlying health conditions that may pose an issue. Your doctor can also assist in helping you determine the right dosage for you and help you decide how often would be best to take it. Doctors are also able to provide access to other treatments, such as hormone replacement therapy, which may be more effective than taking supplements alone.

The main ingredients found in Amberen include succinic acid, amino acids (glycine, alanine and lysine), calcium disuccinate monohydrate, magnesium aspartate hydrochloride and zinc bisglycinate hydrochloride. Additionally, there are trace amounts of vitamin E and folate present, though it is recommended that these vitamins should not be taken with other supplements that contain them due to potential side effects from over-dosage. While these particular ingredients are generally regarded as safe, always consult your physician prior if you have any allergies or medical conditions related to them.

In terms of actual studies conducted on Amberen itself, only one large-scale trial has been completed thus far – Clinical Study 03-115 where 499 participants took part in a 12 week study wherein they were randomized into either a placebo or active treatment group (in this case placebo being placebo tablets or unprocessed rice flour). The conclusion of this trial indicated overall improved quality-of-life scores among those who followed the Amberen regimen compared with those who took the placebo treatment. However it is important to note that improvements will vary depending on individual and lifestyle factors such as diet and exercise habits as well as stress levels and sleep quality which could all play a role in how effective the supplement proves for each user.

Despite no reports of serious side effects from those using Amberen so far, some users may find themselves experiencing slight headaches or stomachaches which can usually be treated easily by changing up their diet/lifestyle habits or reducing the daily dosage slightly until symptoms cease altogether. Similarly with any sort of medicine/supplement regimen; if users feel worse after beginning use then they should stop taking it immediately and consult their doctor about alternatives available instead such as hormone replacement therapies offered by Hormone Treatment Center .

Ultimately while there are currently no long term studies on the safety/efficacy of Amberen yet; based on preliminary research conducted thus far alongside expert opinions from doctors we can draw reasonable conclusions that suggest taking Amberen could potentially improve overall quality-of-life markers during menopause:

  • Women looking to manage menopause symptoms safely should consider discussing options with their doctors first
  • Be aware of allergies or underlying medical conditions when considering taking dietary supplements like Amberen
  • Make sure to follow instructions when taking Amberen exactly in order to get the most benefit out of its use; including keeping track of regular diet/lifestyle habits throughout treatment
  • Keep note that results may vary depending on individual circumstances; fewer risks exist opting for more traditional treatments such as hormone replacement therapies offered by Hormone Treatment Center
